Lexmark – Free Cartridge Recycling Program

Lexmark – Free Cartridge Recycling Program

As a leader in the industry of imaging products, Lexmark is also a model business for sustainability. Going green before green was cool; Lexmark introduced their award winning Lexmark Cartridge Collection Program (LCCP) in 1991. With more than 1 out of every 3 cartridges being returned, LCCP’s success is in part from its free and easy access.  Consumers simply go online to the LCCP website and print out free return shipping labels. They then complete the process by dropping the cartridge in the mail.

With over 60 participating countries, Lexmark has kept more than 260,000 tons of solid waste out of landfills and streams. They are also working to reach a commendable goal of 25% average post consumer recycled plastic content for their cartridge line by next year.
